Missions

gospel proclamation

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:13-15 ESV

ALL Christians are meant to be about the work of evangelism and discipleship wherever they find themselves, with whomever the Holy Spirit guides them to share, both in bold, loving words of Truth and through gracious acts of service. This is the normative, missional lifestyle that we are meant to live as His kingdom representatives, which we call Outreach. However, God also gives a distinct calling for certain people to cross geographic, cultural, and/or linguistic barriers in order to live this missional lifestyle among people who may otherwise never have a chance to hear. We call this Missions, which can happen either across the street with our culturally diverse neighbors, or it can happen around the world.

New Hope views both Outreach and Missions as important and necessary work to do until Jesus returns! For a helpful video that further explains the biblical basis for Missions, click here.

Pop‑Up Pantry is a ministry of New Hope where we distribute food purchased from the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to families for free, multiple times a year, in Jesus' name. In November, the "Bountiful Harvest" edition celebrates Thanksgiving with additional items.

We financially support the Northern Michigan Children’s Assessment Center (NMCAC) in their efforts to foster healing and reduce trauma from child neglect or abuse in our community.

We partner with Harbor Lights Pregnancy Center (HLPIC) financially and by giving occasional supplies in agreement with their Jesus-centered ministry to mothers, fathers, and family caregivers.

New Hope volunteers operate a Salvation Army office on our campus (Tues. - Thurs., 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) in order to provide emergency, supportive assistance for those in need. Call 989-305-2442 to make an appointment.

We organize teams that join and serve within Samaritan’s Purse disaster relief ministries, where we come alongside homeowners to bring relief and help rebuild in Jesus’ Name.

We donate and volunteer to supply, pack, receive, and help process shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a Samaritan's Purse ministry. Shoebox gifts lead to evangelism, discipleship, and the multiplication of believers and churches to the ends of the earth.

We financially partner with Aletheia Ministries in Freetown, Sierra Leone (led by Michael Turay), in dedication to evangelizing unbelievers and teaching biblical truth for making disciples.

We financially partner with Engage Africa in Rustenburg, South Africa (led by Jeff and Abby Hunt), for engaging local children with the gospel and a desire to see them live full lives in the hope and love of Jesus.

New Hope sponsors two children through Compassion International for supporting their ongoing safety, care, and development in partnership with Jesus-centered local churches.
